Formed around 2003 by Richie Byrne , with the help of MTBIrelands Dave Gill and with the encouragement of Robin Seymour, we felt that there was a need for a less serious Club than Team Worc that Richie was a member of.Originally it was based around a group of people who frequented the MTBIRELAND forum and became a fully fledged Club with the help of Alfie Wallace of Expert Cyclesand Damian Mulchrone who made Richie realise that instead of a bunch of messers, there was real talent in the Club. Originally they messed about with Downhill being very involved with both the Winter league and the DH NPS. Running several very Successful DH races. But the thing that set EPIC apart from the rest was The Blast. Conceived by the lads while on spins when they would line up on the top of a mountain and race each other to the bottom as a group. It was originally called an Apache Charge. The Blast has gone all the way to the top , drawing international Superstars and TV coverage. EPIC also ran the most successful XC Nationals in the history of the sport. In Djouce, the birthplace of Irish Mountainbiking. But EPIC is all about the people in it.There is no craic like EPIC craic and no more committed riders than EPIC riders.
